Background 

This website is an outcome of a passion. A passion for nature and the beautiful creations of this universe. From a little squirrel to a mammoth elephant, from marshland to marine life, from green fields to the top of mountain nature and its bountiful resources have always attracted me. Out of this passion and being an active member of Notre Dame Nature Study club in Dhaka, Bangladesh, I created nishorga.com-- a nature oriented Bangla web magazine in 2001.

Nature.com.bd has been launched with a much broader objective. We will make this site an ultimate nature portal in Bangla language. Although we will mainly promote articles about our natural history and resources in Bangla language, some of the articles, when time and resource permits, will be translated into English for non-Bangla-speaking audience.

Objective

The short term objective of this portal is to present to the people (mainly to Bangla speaking people) around the globe about nature and its beautiful things in general, and about "Nature of Bangladesh" in particular. This will, we hope,  make us feel about caring for nature and get involved in its conservation. 

Technology that we use

In order to spread the use of Bangla, we are delivering contents in this website in our language. Since Bangla-Unicode is going to be the ultimate standard for Bangla web publishing, we are using  unicode enabled Bangla. For this, we use Omicronlab's Avro software for typesetting and Joomla.Org.bd 's (or Joomla-bd.org) AponaLohit Bangla font. AponaLohit is the best screen quality unicode enabled font at the moment, which can be downloaded from here .

It is YOU who are behind this endeavour. Your support as a visitor, as a contributor, as a patron or as a well-wisher is invaluable. There are some active groups that are also supporting our objective namely, Bangladesh Tourism Expansion Forum (BTEF) , Trekker's community Kewkradong , and Outdoor tours and travel organization Delta Outdoors .
